Alex Foxen is a high-stakes player with an accomplished poker career. The only thing he missed was a bracelet, and now he has earned that as well. The 31-year-old poker pro defeated 56 entries in the 2022 World Series of Poker Event#50: $250,000 Super High Roller. With a prize pool of $13,944,000, this event was the biggest buy-in of the season.

Foxen earned a career-best of $4,536,700 for his top finish. His lifetime earnings have now increased to around $26.8 million, putting him in the 21st place on poker’s all-time money list. The champion said he always wanted a bracelet and had some close spots but couldn’t finish it off. Foxen felt special about the first win, and ranking in the money list was not as important to him as the bracelet.

Final Table Action

The first elimination of the final table started with Henrik Hecklen. Hecklen lost to two time braelet winer, Martin Kabrehel. Kabrehel dominated with his pocket eights against the A-J of Heckeln. Hecklen received $414,815 for his ninth place.

The final eight players gathered on day 2, with Foxen having the lead. After a while, three-time bracelet winner Dan Zack lost to Foxen. Zack has already secured two titles in the series, but this time his run came to an end when his A-Q was not enough against the pocket tens of Foxen. Zack cashed a career-best of $488,095 for his eighth position.

Next in the elimination line was fan-favorite Phil Ivy. With ten final table appearances, including four in the WSOP, 2022 is turning out to be a great year for Ivy. The ten-time bracelet winner had to leave the table after his Q-J lost to the A-Q of Brandon Steven. Ivy cashed $597,381 for his seventh-place finish.

Martin Kabrhel was the next player to go. The Czech poker pro’s King-deuce ran into Steven’s pocket jacks. The two-time bracelet winner went home with $756,362 for sixth place. After the break, Sam Soverel lost to Steven when his pocket kings could not hold against Steven’s A-7. Kabrhel received $1,001,142 for his fifth position. Fourth place favored the four-time bracelet winner, Adrian Mateos. The Spanish player lost some crucial pots and ultimately lost to Chris Hunichen. The defending champion earned $1,367,206 for his fourth-place finish. Chris “Big Huni” Hunichen also lost a big pot against Foxen, leaving him in third place with a prize of $1,931,718.

The Heads-up Play

The flop showed Q (Hearts), 5 (Hearts), and 2 (Spades). The K (Hearts) on the turn and a 10 (Clubs) on the river sealed the title for Foxen. Steven cashed $2,820,581 for his runner-up finish.
